Chelsea Welsh is a photographer and writer whose work is interested in the entanglement between the internal and external world -- how one's perception of reality is altered by the shifting psychological states pressing upon it. She received an MFA in creative writing from the University of Michigan's Helen Zell Writers' Program in 2018 and an MFA in Photography from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2013. She has worked as a director of a transitional group home for adults with mental illness, an instructor of photography at Bowling Green State University, as well as an instructor of Creative Writing and English Composition at the University of Michigan. Her photographic work has been featured in online publications such as Ain't-Bad Magazine, Phases Mag, Lenscratch and Rattle Magazine among others. Her poetry was nominated by the faculty at the University of Michigan for inclusion in Best New Poets as well as nominated by the Black Warrior Review for the annual "Best of the Web" publication. She lives and works in Chicago, Illinois.
